The Research Division of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary group of surgeons and researchers dedicated to excellence in patient care and outcomes by applying evidence-based research of superior scientific quality to professional practice and translating our research from bench to bedside and community.

The Research Division will be a recognized leader in outcomes and basic research on issues related to orthopaedic injury, disease, and rehabilitation.
Mission Statement
The goal of the Research Division is to improve patient care by employing a comprehensive scientific approach, including basic, translational, and clinical research, to understand the mechanisms and advance the treatment and rehabilitation of multiple orthopaedic injuries and diseases.
The Research Division will achieve this vision by:
- investigating the cause, prevention and treatment of orthopaedic injuries and associated diseases.
- promoting the use of sound scientific principles and ethics in all areas of research within the orthopaedic, rehabilitation and scientific communities.
- fostering multidisciplinary collaborations between departments, institutions and beyond.
- supporting the education and training of clinical and basic research students and fellows.
- enhancing the general research profile within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation via grant applications, peer-reviewed publications, clinical and scientific conferences, retreats, and symposia.
