The Vanderbilt Division of Orthopaedic Trauma has an active clinical research program aimed at improving outcomes of patients with orthopaedic injuries. The faculty have recently edited and contributed to a new surgical skills textbook on orthopaedic trauma.
Dr. Obremskey is chairman of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Evidence Based Medicine Committee. This committee provides guidance to community orthopaedic surgeons and residents on best practices in orthopaedic trauma.
We are also actively enrolling and studying patients with knee dislocations, scapular fractures, proximal tibial fractures, and proximal femur fractures. Faculty of the Division of Orthopaedic Trauma frequently participate in local, regional and national educational meetings and conferences on orthopaedic trauma.
