Augmented Reality at Vanderbilt: Discovery and Innovation

Vanderbilt University Medical Center presents the next town hall in the On the Horizon series, “Augmented Reality at Vanderbilt: Discovery and Innovation” hosted by Dr. Michael Topf, MD, MSCI, Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery along with Dr. Jie Ying Wu, PhD and Dr. Michael Miga, PhD.  

The Vanderbilt Community will hear from some of Vanderbilt’s leaders at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative surgical innovations using augmented reality and will be followed by a live Q&A session with experts from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Vanderbilt University, and Meharry Medical College.


Innovative Resources for Clinical Trials: How the Trial Innovation Network Can Empower and Accelerate Multi-Center Research

The third town hall in the On the Horizon series, “Innovative Resources for Clinical Trials: How the Trial Innovation Network Can Empower and Accelerate Multi-Center Research” will be hosted by Paul Harris, PhD, Vice President for Research Informatics and the Director of the VUMC Office of Research Informatics. The event took place August 28th at 3:00 pm.

Join us to learn more about the Trial Innovation Network organizational model and services including existing and upcoming innovations being made available to researchers pursuing multi-center clinical trials, how researchers can apply for support as well as opportunities for faculty to participate in domain expert roles.

VUMC Generative AI Updates

The second town hall in the On the Horizon series, “VUMC Generative AI Update” will be hosted on July 26, 9-10am, by Dr. Peter Embí, MD, MS, Senior Vice President for Research & Innovation. This event will provide the Vanderbilt Community with an overview of generative AI, what’s being made available to researchers in the areas of AI tools and capabilities (including Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s aiChat), and how these tools and capabilities can be accessed to accelerate research.  Presenters include VUMC leaders in generative AI, information technology, biomedical informatics, and more.
